Operate laboratories of excellence

They include: Creatis (medical imaging), LabTau (therapeutic applications of ultrasound), INL (nanotechnology), and Institut Carnot Ingénerie@Lyon, consisting of Matteis (materials), Manutech USD (femtosecond lasers) and LAGEPP (automation, process engineering and pharmaceuticals).

Clinical trials and technological pilots benefit from a cutting-edge environment, with the second largest university hospital in France, the Hospices Civils de Lyon, and one of the main European centers for the fight against cancer, the Centre Léon Bérard. The center of biotechnology in Lyon, the Lyon-Gerland Biodistrict brings together 70 major players and 5,000 life science professionals, including 3,000 researchers. Lyon’s second-largest health intelligence hub, with 30,000 m² of labs and offices and around thirty biotech/medtech companies, in the heart of the eastern hospital district in the city’s eighth arrondissement: four HCL hospitals (Edouard Herriot, neurology, cardiology, pediatrics), the Léon Bérard cancer center, the Vinatier psychiatric hospital, the medicine and pharmacy faculties.

Since 2008, ONLYLYON Invest has connected us with a large number of manufacturers, and we have launched four key partnerships with Japanese manufacturers, including Toray and Hitachi, which are major players in pharmaceuticals and medical equipment for hospitals.
The Centre Léon Bérard is one of the main French and European cancer centers, combining care, research and teaching. It collaborates with many pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers to accelerate the transfer of innovations to the patient’s bedside.
