“Transport 300 kg by bike.” While it may sound amusing, this idea has been tested and approved in ten French cities. Toutenvélo, a specialist in cargo bike transport, is now setting up in the Lyon region. Supported by Ronalpia and ONLYLYON Invest, the national cooperative network has added a new branch called “Toutenvélo Lyon”. This represents a great opportunity for the local economy and provides an additional solution to accelerate the ecological transition of the Lyon metropolitan area!
Toutenvélo Lyon: sustainable mobility serving Lyon deliveries (and more!)
The active mobility solution offered by Toutenvélo Lyon allows deliveries of up to 300 kg. Its main advantage? Time savings! Compared to other vehicles, cargo bikes can access dense city-center areas more easily and are less affected by traffic or parking constraints.
Although this cooperative company (SCOP) is based in Lyon’s 8th arrondissement, its cargo bikes operate across all Lyon districts and Villeurbanne. Toutenvélo Lyon transports all kinds of goods: parcels, catering orders, potted Christmas trees, appliances, etc. It also collects waste in the city center.
Ronalpia and ONLYLYON Invest: tailored support for the establishment of Toutenvélo Lyon
While SCOP Toutenvélo Lyon was created in summer 2022, the parent network has existed since 2012. It started 10 years ago in Rennes and then expanded to about ten cities across France. To establish itself in Lyon, Toutenvélo benefited from the joint support of Ronalpia and the economic development agency for the Lyon region (ONLYLYON Invest).
Ronalpia helped Toutenvélo replicate its model in the Lyon region: project leader training (commercial, impact measurement, financing), mentoring, and dialogue with local institutions. ONLYLYON Invest facilitated connections between Toutenvélo Lyon and local companies and networks and will also support the two partners in recruiting talent.
Together, these two organizations, financially supported by the Métropole de Lyon, assist social enterprises in setting up and scaling their operations locally.
